Our Radio & Imaging Services

Boulder City Hospital’s radiology department offers a full range of diagnostic imaging modalities to support accurate diagnosis and treatment across a variety of medical conditions.

X-Ray

X-ray imaging is one of the most common and widely used diagnostic tools in medicine. It produces images of bones, joints, and certain soft tissues to help detect fractures, infections, arthritis, and other conditions. X-rays at Boulder City Hospital are quick, painless, and typically completed in just a few minutes, making them ideal for both routine evaluations and urgent cases seen in our Emergency Room.

CT Scan (Computed Tomography)

CT scans use specialized X-ray technology to create detailed cross-sectional images of your body. These scans provide more comprehensive views than traditional X-rays and are commonly used to evaluate injuries, detect cancers, diagnose vascular conditions, and guide treatment planning. Our 64-slice CT scanner delivers high-resolution imaging with fast scan times, helping reduce your overall visit time. CT scans are available by appointment only.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves rather than radiation to produce real-time images of soft tissues, organs, and blood flow. It is frequently used in obstetric care, abdominal evaluations, cardiac assessments, and musculoskeletal examinations. Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive procedure that requires no radiation exposure, making it suitable for patients of all ages.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

MRI technology uses powerful magnetic fields and radio waves to create highly detailed images of soft tissues, organs, and the musculoskeletal system. MRI is especially valuable for evaluating brain and spinal cord conditions, joint injuries, and certain cancers. Our MRI services provide exceptional image clarity to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning, which is often coordinated with our rehabilitation therapy team for patients recovering from orthopedic injuries or post-surgical procedures.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine imaging involves administering a small amount of radioactive material to help visualize how organs and tissues are functioning. This type of imaging is commonly used to evaluate thyroid conditions, heart function, bone abnormalities, and certain cancers. Nuclear medicine studies provide unique functional information that other imaging modalities may not capture.

Mammography

Boulder City Hospital is proud to offer American College of Radiology (ACR) accredited, gold-certified mammography services for breast cancer screening and diagnostic evaluations. The ACR accreditation means our facility, equipment, personnel, and quality assurance practices have met rigorous national standards for image quality and safety. Regular mammograms are one of the most effective tools for early detection of breast cancer. Talk to your primary care provider about recommended screening guidelines, and schedule your mammogram near you by calling (702) 294-5705.
